Shocked Quartz Microscopy Paintings

Each of these paintings begins where the naked eye cannot see—deep within the fractured architecture of shocked quartz. Using microscopic imaging, I capture the hidden landscapes formed under intense natural forces—pressures, impacts, and transformations that leave behind intricate, almost otherworldly patterns.

From these images, I hand-paint each piece onto wood or canvas, translating what is scientific into something deeply artistic and interpretive. No two are ever alike. Every brushstroke is guided by the original microstructure, yet infused with intuition, movement, and energy.

Each painting includes the actual microscopic image it was inspired from, allowing you to witness both the raw natural form and its artistic transformation. Every piece is personally created and signed by me, the owner and artist behind Spirit, Wood & Stone.
